What to do in Uganda

1. Gorilla Trekking safaris. This can be done in Bwindi and Mgahinga National Park. One of the top attractions in Uganda is the chance to trek through the dense forest to see the endangered mountain gorillas. This experience is truly unforgettable and allows visitors to observe these
   magnificent creatures up close. Mountain Gorillas are rare species and endangered only found in 3 countries, neighboring each other, Uganda, Rwanda and Democratic Republic of Congo. 98% are like Humans, they are hairy. The group is led by a dominant silverback which can grow big and heavy than Human beings. Mountain gorillas are herbivores, with their diet consisting mainly of
   leaves, stems, bamboo shoots, fruits, and occasionally insects. They spend a significant amount of time foraging for food each day.
   
2. Chimpanzee Tracking: This activity is also popular in Uganda. There are many protected areas where Chimpanzees can be tracked. Kibale National Park is home to a large population of chimpanzees, there is also Budongo Forest, Kyambura gorge, Kalinzu Forest and Ngamba Island. Chimpanzees are our closest living relatives, sharing about 98% of their DNA with humans. They belong to the Hominidae family, along with bonobos, gorillas, and orangutans. They are known for their remarkable tool-making abilities. They use sticks to extract termites from mounds, rocks to crack open nuts, and leaves to sponge up water for drinking. They exhibit a variety of behaviors such as grooming, playing, and communicating through vocalizations and gestures. Chimpanzees have a sophisticated system of communication that includes vocalizations facial expressions, body postures, and gestures. They can also learn and use sign language to communicate with humans.
3. Wildlife Safaris: There are many wildlife parks in Uganda where wildlife safaris are done. They include, Queen Elizabeth, Murchison falls, Lake Mburo, Kidepo and Semliki National parks. Animals in this park includes the big five and other kinds of species. Typically, game drives are conducted early in the morning or late in the afternoon when animals are most active. You can do a guided tour where a safari land cruiser is used to look for animals in the protected areas. It’s a good idea to have a knowledgeable guide who can help spot wildlife and provide insights about the animals and their behaviors.
4. Boat Safaris. Many of Uganda’s national parks offer boat safaris along rivers and lakes, providing a unique perspective to view wildlife such as hippos, crocodiles, and a variety of bird species.
